Preschool

Welcome to The Farm!

The Preschool Ministry of Bethel Baptist Church accommodates babies and children ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten. Our farm-themed classrooms are divided by age-range and developmental stage, and are lead by trained and screened volunteers. Toddlers and preschoolers in The Farm are taught using Lifeway Christian curriculum and other age-appropriate resources that point them toward the Savior. Our goal is to pull alongside you in laying a firm Biblical foundation that your child can build on throughout their life. Thank you for trusting us with your child!

The Crop-duster Room: Ages 6 weeks - 6 months or crawling

The Haystack Room: Ages 6 months or crawling - 12 months or walking

The Chicken Coop: Ages 12 months or early walker - 18 months

The Duck Pond: Ages 18 months - 24 months

The Pig Pen: Ages 2 years - 3 years

The Barnyard: Ages 3 years - Kindergarten

Children are moved into The Barnyard based on birthdate. Our new Sunday School year begins each June; children who are 3 years of age on or before September 1 will move up to The Barnyard.

Dropping off your preschooler:

Upon entering The Farm,  you will be greeted by someone who will check your child in based on their age. You will be given a pager that corresponds with a sticker to be placed on your child's back. Should we need you for any reason, we will page you to The Farm. Please make sure all personal items (diaper bags, cups, Bibles) are clearly labeled with your child's name. Parent's dropping off babies in The Crop-duster Room, The Haystack Room, and The Chicken Coop should fill out an Infant Today Card**, which includes feeding, sleep, and any other special instructions the class leaders may need to know. These cards are available at the check-in desk, or you can download a copy and bring it in with you already filled out. If your child is potty-training or has special needs/allergies, alert stickers are available upon request. A nursing room is available for nursing moms.

What to remember:

Please remember to clearly label all of your child's personal belongings, especially bottles/sippy cups/feeding supplies. Labels/permanent markers are available at the desk should you need them. Make sure you have included plenty of disposable diapers and wipes for babies not yet potty trained, and a change of clothes for older toddlers in case of accidents.

Well-Child Policy:

We take seriously our responsibility to care for all of the children entrusted to us during church hours. We strive to protect well children, as well as nursery leaders from exposure to illness, and therefore rely upon parental honesty as to the health and condition of their child. In consideration for other children, leaders and parents involved in the preschool ministry, we ask that you refrain from dropping off a child with any of the following symptoms:

-Fever (above 100.5) in the past 24 hours

-Diarrhea or vomiting in the past 24 hours

-Any unexplained rash

-Any symptom of a childhood disease such as chicken pox or whooping cough

-Any contagious infection such as pink eye, strep, etc.

Allergies:

Snacks are provided each week, and can vary from week to week and class to class. Though we try to stay away  from major food allergy triggers, it is important that the preschool leaders be made aware of any potential problem. Please fill out an allergy alert sticker and place it on your child's back so that all preschool volunteers will be aware of children with food allergies.
