Today I gave a devotional to our summer group of kids. The devotional came from Jonah. I felt like the kids would be interested in a man who was swallowed by a fish and lived to tell about it. I wanted to share something with them that they would not forget before the afternoon. I began by saying that there were at least three things you could never do; 1) You can never outrun God, 2) You can never outrun a fish, and 3) You can never outrun everybody else or people. Have you ever noticed that when God wants your attention He gets it? Have you ever noticed how fast fish are when you try to catch them? Well, then how fast might they be when you are trying to out swim them? When it came time for Jonah to preach to the people of Nineveh, he could not outrun the call nor could he outrun their need.

If you are running from God, stop! If you are running from His fish, lookout! If you are running from His call, stop and listen!
